Socks / Laundry ABC

Egyptian cotton

This luxurious fibre makes each sock noticeably silkier, firmer, more breathable and more durable than its cotton counterpart.

Air Channel System R.A.C.S.

The Air Channel System improves air circulation, absorbs moisture, inhibits odours and has an antibacterial effect. This guarantees dry and happy feet for hours on end.

Anatomical Design

The anatomical design of the socks encloses the foot shape and offers targeted reinforcements in heavily stressed zones. It thus guarantees a tailor-made fit.

Anti Slip Tube

The anti-slip tube technology gives the socks a non-slip shaft without elastane. Socks don't cut in any more and they don't slip.

Antibacterial

Rohner socks are manufactured in such a way that they are effective against bacteria.

Antistatic

Antistatic fibres are not or only slightly electrically charged because they are electrically conductive. Such fibres cannot be charged by friction.

Breathable

The ability of a garment to carry moisture away from the skin to the outside. This is about water vapour permeability. What is important here is not how much moisture is absorbed by the material, but how quickly it is evaporated.

Cotton

Cotton belongs to the fine natural fibres and has a strong absorbency, but it dries slowly when wet. In addition, it is very skin-friendly, as it does not irritate the skin and has anti-allergic functions. Cotton socks are particularly breathable, resistant and hard-wearing. In addition to these outstanding properties, cotton socks are durable and heat-resistant.

Organic Cotton

On organic cotton fields, no artificial sprays are used as on normal cotton plantations, which is why the soil is fertile in the long term. It also keeps the environment and groundwater clean and human health safe.

Bioceramic

Resistex Bioceramic is a polyester fibre that is linked to bioceramic crystals and provides comprehensive protection.

ADVANTAGES:

  • constant effectiveness, even after many washes
  • Insulation from cold
  • environmentally friendly: non-toxic, contains no chemicals, recyclable material
  • Protection against harmful UV-A and UV-B rays
  • ensures long-term freshness during sporting activities
  • odour inhibiting and antibacterial

Chemical fiber

Man-made fibres are fibrous materials that are produced chemically. A distinction is made between two groups: synthetic and cellulose. Synthetic man-made fibres are made from raw materials that do not exist in nature, which is why they are produced artificially. Cellulosic man-made fibres, on the other hand, are produced from the natural raw material cellulose.

Climayarn®

Climayarn® fibres regulate body temperature and quickly wick away excess moisture.

CoolMax® fibers

CoolMax® transports sweat, dries quickly and prevents blisters.

Crabyon fibres

Crabyon fibres are obtained from the outer skeleton, the chitin shell (residual product) of crabs. The extraordinary thing about this material is its antibacterial effect, as it slows down the growth of bacteria, improves the foot climate and reduces the risk of infection, therefore suitable for allergy sufferers. Crabyon is also excellent at absorbing moisture, so feet always stay dry without the skin drying out.

Elastane

Elastane fibres are man-made fibres made of polyurethane, which contain both elastic and rigid segments, resulting in very high elastic stretchability. Environmental conditions and low or high temperatures don't bother elastane socks, because elastane makes them more tear-resistant and durable than any other sock. With each expansion, the sock always retreats back to its original shape. Elastane socks offer high wearing comfort and great freedom of movement, and they are also very easy-care. The soft material leads to an optimal fit.

Ergonomic

Ergonomic socks are optimally adapted to the feet and thus take into account the resilience of the body.

fine knit

Fine knit is a soft and light fabric knitted from very thin yarn, which is also very cuddly and suitable for everyday use.

Flat weld

In this type of seam, which is also called butt seam, two fabric edges, flat or folded, are joined together. In this way, an additional material is prevented. The edges do not overlap, but collide with each other. The hand-linked flat seam of Rohner socks protects against pressure points in the toe area.

Terry

Terry cloth is a textile fabric through which socks are particularly absorbent and have a pleasant feel.

Yarn

GARN is an endless, linear textile structure. It is made from spun fibres of limited length by spinning or from several continuous filaments by twisting. The type of yarn used has a decisive influence on the fabric properties in terms of appearance (uniformity), serviceability (abrasion resistance, tear resistance, crease resistance, seam strength) and wear properties (absorbency, softness, flexibility).

Hand linked toe

Different pieces of fabric are joined together in such a way that the toe area is seamless to avoid friction or irritation of the foot.

Interlock

Interlock is a knitted fabric for fine, but not very stretchable, dimensionally stable knitted fabrics, which shows a right-hand pattern from both sides. Interlock is produced on circular knitting machines. Interlock is more expensive and heavier than comparable fabrics, which are also made of cotton, silk, polyester or polyamide.

Jersey

JERSEY comes from the British Channel Island of Jersey, where jersey fabrics were first produced. It is a knitted fabric made from different raw materials.

Carbon

Resistex Carbon is a yarn with unique technical properties. It is obtained by combining textile fibres with a continuous filament of conductive material based on activated carbon.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Reduction of lactic acid concentration
  • Improvement of blood circulation
  • Enrichment of cells with oxygen
  • natural, non-toxic, contains no chemicals
  • Protection against UV rays, bacteria and allergies
  • Heat regulation and transfer
  • increase in performance

Cashmere

Cashmere is a fine and soft natural fibre obtained from the undercoat of the cashmere goat, which is why it is called noble wool, which has good thermal properties. Cashmere also has a silky sheen and keeps you warm.

Compression

Compression socks stimulate blood circulation, provide more oxygen to the muscles and help relieve symptoms such as heavy legs, aching limbs, swollen feet and ankles.

Lenofil

Reinforces heels and toe area through high abrasion resistance and prevents blistering.

Lingerie

LINGERIE comes from the French and means laundry or piece of laundry. Lingerie is a collective term for fine nightwear and underwear. The material is characterised by fine white cotton or linen and delicate embroidery and lace.

LYCRA®.

Lycra is a very elastic synthetic fibre from the group of elastanes.

Lyocell (CLY)

Lyocell is made from cellulose, which is obtained from eucalyptus wood. Lyocell is natural, environmentally friendly, easy to manufacture and extremely strong. Thanks to the smooth and silky surface it lies very comfortably on the skin and provides a perfect moisture transport. It also prevents the growth of bacteria.

Knitted goods

Knitted fabric is a collective term for knitted, warp-knitted and crocheted fabrics. This technology uses needles to form yarns into meshes that are connected vertically and horizontally.

Merino wool

Merino wool is obtained from merino sheep, it is particularly soft and at the same time the ideal material for particularly sweat-inducing applications, because it absorbs moisture, transports it to the outside and dries quickly, thus keeping your body and clothes dry at all times. Other properties: elastic, smooth, warm and very pleasant on the skin.

MerylSkinlife®

MerylSkinlife, with silver microparticles, belongs to the most modern mix of intelligent polyamide yarns. It has permanent antibacterial and anti-odour properties to reduce unpleasant odours.

Modal

MODAL is the name for a regenerated cellulose fibre with high tensile strength produced by a modified viscose process.

Natural fibre

Natural fibres come from natural (vegetable, animal or mineral) sources and can be used directly without chemical conversion. An example of this is cotton, which is of plant origin (cellulose).

Piqué structure

Piqué is a type of fabric made of cotton or viscose fabric that looks like quilted because it alternately has raised and recessed areas.

Polyamide

Polyamide is a strong, elastic and high-gloss plastic with very good chemical resistance.

Polyester (Dacron®, Trevira®)

Polyester is a plastic that can be used in many ways.

ADVANTAGES:

  • low-maintenance
  • dries quickly
  • transports moisture well
  • soft and skin-friendly
  • stores heat
  • fine, thin, light
  • high dimensional stability, does not crease
  • high strength and flexibility and therefore resistant and tearproof

Polypropylene

Polypropylene is a strong, stiff and hard plastic with good impact resistance.

Profilen® fibers

Profilen® fibers are dirt and water repellent and offer superior gliding properties to prevent blisters.

Ripp

RIPP fine rib is right-right knitted fabric produced on circular knitting machines. If it is stretched, a right and a left stitch can be seen alternately on both sides in the course of a row of stitches. The right-hand mesh sticks form a fine continuous rib in the longitudinal direction. The fabric is fine and elastic. Double rib is a double-faced knitted fabric produced on circular knitting machines. Visible ribs are formed in the fabric by the removal of needles. The binding is less fine, but particularly elastic, and is therefore often used for cuffs.

Virgin wool

This type of wool is sheared by the living sheep and is therefore a natural product. It is durable and warm.

SeaCell® Active

The material with algae active ingredients, which improves the soft and comfortable wearing comfort. Through skin contact, the fibre releases important active substances such as proteins, vitamins, carbohydrates etc..

Seamless

SEAMLESS means seamless. The garment has no side seam or flat edges. It doesn't pinch and there are no seams under the outerwear.

Silk

Silk is a fine natural animal fibre obtained from the cocoons of silk-spinning insects. It is soft and smooth and insulates against cold and heat.

Silver fibres

Skin-friendly silver fibres make textiles conductive and antibacterial. In addition, these fibres can transport perspiration away well and thus have an odour-inhibiting effect.

SmartCell® yarn

A yarn that has an antibacterial and odour-inhibiting effect and thus improves the feeling of freshness. It supports and cares for the skin and has a regenerating effect. It also promotes the healing of wounds and inflammations and protects against environmental influences.

Viscose (CV)

Viscose is made from cellulose, which in turn comes from spruce or beech wood.

Woven goods

In the case of woven fabrics, warp threads running in the longitudinal direction and weft threads running in the transverse direction are crossed at right angles. It is not elastic, which is why it cannot adapt to the body shape.
