Reusing is better than recycling.

Resources do not have to be wasted. That's why we also strive to make our packaging process as sustainable as possible and to keep getting better.

Our product packaging is all made of FSC (Mix) paper, which is fully recyclable. Furthermore, we do not use any filling material or plastic during transport from production to the logistics centre or to the end customer, unless this is explicitly requested or necessary. We can also do without plastic during storage thanks to a modern high-bay warehouse and can store the products in cardboard boxes. We reuse these cartons in which our products are delivered and stored up to 10 times before we recycle them. This means that every year almost 30,000 kg of cardboard are reused between our logistics centre and our production in Portugal.

The cardboard boxes that can no longer be used are processed by our recycling partner Loacker. In 2020, we recycled 7530 kg of cardboard, 815 kg of plastic film and 1760 kg of wood. We not only separate logistics waste, but also PET and aluminium cans from our employees.

The waste disposal certificate from Loacker Ostschweiz Recycling AG confirms that Jacob Rohner AG has collected and handed over the following quantities of recyclable materials for recycling.
